I am a woman. I am president of an s-corp and bought Small Time Operator for tax information. While the text is useful I am completely put off by the illistrations. The pictures, all cartoons, depict business situations and all the business men are just that – men. What I want is a book that honestly depicts all the people running businesses. While a number of the written scenarios are about women, the cartoons speak much louder. To the author – get with the times. You are overlooking the fastest growning population of business owners. To readers – this book may be useful but I don’t like spending my independently hard earned money on 1960′s mentality.

This book only cover the bare basics and common sense… You are better off talking to “anyone” about the subject

There are better books on how to start and run a business. This one is long on words and short on useful, practical information. Reads more like an accountant trolling for business by harping on complications than a genuine self-help book.
I bought based on the recommendation of a (well-written) book on self-publishing. Wish I’d read Amazon’s comments first and spent my money elsewhere.

After checking out this book from the library I soon realized I wanted to have a copy of my own. This book is so easily understandable and complete that I felt more comfortable tackling the”books”
